Thank you, Kapt Ron,  :-)

Although Mr. Hicks' answer was an excellent one, my original answer was 
intended for someone that might not have a great deal of knowledge about the 
workings of heat pumps and controls.  I started to warn against wiring the 
'stat without adequate knowledge of how to do it, but didn't because of not 
wanting to seem to be taking it for granted that Officer Pannel was not 
knowledgable enough to do it.  'Course, I guess if he knew about it, he 
wouldn't have asked the question in the first place.  Hum?
