hey... every other lowlife scumbucket gets defended, even
though they know he's guilty as sin... why not this dude?

After all, it's not like he killed someone important... he
killed an abortionist, which is a few steps above a lawyer,
it's true, but nothing to get all upset about... like, say, if
someone were to rub out a college student.  The horror!
