WRONG WRONG WRONG.

With car purchases, get the Edmunds's price guide from your local 
bookstore, find out how much the dealer is charged for the car, then add 
whatever you like, and negotiate up.  Car dealers sell commodities, if 
they want more money, let them earn it!  

Also, read the book "Don't get taken every time" which will tell you 
about all the tricks used to make obscene amounts of money on uneducated 
car buyers.
