Has anyone actually answered your son's questions. Californians that watch Dan Rather are not usually watching it at the same time you are. It is tape delayed in other time zones... 3 hours later in CA. Most of the time it is the exact same broadcast. However, if there is a significant update to the news, a "west coast" version may be broadcast. Cable news channels tend to do everything live and then rebroadcast. "Hannity and Colmes" and "Larry King Live" I believe come on at 6PM here (live). It's live on the east coast... at 9PM, right? Other things are live on both coasts too. Monday Night Football on ABC will start at 6PM here tonight, and will normally end around 9PM. You get it from 9 to midnight as it's live everywhere. Last time I watched Monday Night Football in Hawaii (many years ago) it started at 4PM.
