Hi VMS gurus, a while ago we started networking our Atari computers with PamsNet. We also purchased a server program vor VMS for having the VAX serving its files to the Atari network. This works such that a program is run in a batch queue under the PAMSNET account, which was created for this purpose. This process waits for user requests to access their directory. Upon such a request, the pamsnet program starts a server process under the account of the corresponding user, enabling him to access his/her VAX files over the Atari network. However, for this to work properly, it is necessary that "the TASK-object of VMS is activated for local users" (from the PamsNet manual, translated by me). Could some kind soul please explain to me what we are supposed to do? Preferrably in the form of a sequence of commands to type in, as our knowledge about several corners of VMS is very limited. Followup-To: vmsnet.networks.misc is set.
