Mixed cluster anyone?

I received my first DEC 3000/400 AXP workstation a couple of days ago (only
9 days from receipt of order; well done guys!). I would like to ask those
of you running a mixed cluster (I know there are some of you out there)
how you did it. Simply setting the same cluster group number and password
on VAX and AXP systems appears not to be sufficient; a cluster does not
form. I know that it's not supposed to work, but it would be really
convenient for me if I could get it to work. I have been told by DEC
(unofficially, of course) that it should work just fine. Thanks.
