Networks Jeopardy
1992 Spring DECUS Symposium - Atlanta, Georgia
Session NE100
Tuesday, 5 May 1992 at 10 PM
Georgia World Congress Center - Ballroom II/III
At the 1992 Spring DECUS Symposium (May 4th-8th) in Atlanta, Georgia we will be
running another knock-down, drag-out session of Networks Jeopardy. We are
seeking questions/answers, volunteers to help run the session and actual game
participants.
QUESTIONS/ANSWERS
We need trivia questions and answers on all the major protocols (TCP/IP,
DECnet, NJE/BITNET, UUCP, etc), hardware (Ethernet, FDDI), DEC trivia, network
personalities, software, history of various networks, books, incidents... In
other words if it is about networking, we can use it. Questions can be at any
skill level, everything from Novice to Guru level is acceptable.
We are also interested in a small number of non-Networking trivia questions.
Last year the non-networking topics were Monty Python and Get Smart! :-)
For your reference last Fall's questions can be found on the anonymous FTP
server TGV.COM, in file [.MCMAHON]NETWORKS-JEOPARDY-QUESTIONS-FALL91.TXT.
If you submit questions and they are accepted, you will not be able to play in
the game. However, you could be a judge...
SESSION VOLUNTEERS
We need... Buzzer Operators, Slide Changers, Judges, Scorekeepers. Prime
qualifications are that you are an intelligent life form, will physically be at
the symposium and can understand English. :-)
A sense of humor helps as well, this session gets a bit weird :-)
PARTICIPANTS
We have room for five teams of one to three people each (Warning: the symposium
abstract incorrectly reads "three to five people"). We will accept
registrations for the first three teams right now, the remaining team slots
will be given out first-come first-serve at the Symposium.
HOW TO GET MORE INFORMATION
Submitted questions, team registration or volunteers should contact John
McMahon via Electronic Mail at MCMAHON@TGV.COM or MCMAHON on DECUServe/DCS. If
you have to use the phone, give him a call between 9AM-4PM Pacific Time at
800/848-3440.
Cheers!
