Yeah, I wrote a little program just to check it out, and in your DCL program
it will look like this:

$SEND USERNAME
testing 1
testing 2
testing 3

$exit

I left the blank line there because that is what gets us out of send here.
I'm pretty sure it is that way too on 5.4-3

Is that what you needed??
