a 3com 3C503 ethernet card driver for 486?? I have got some, they
all work normally under 286 and 386, but when in 486-33, they are
all down....(include the driver eth503.sys which is provided by
     3com...)

if u know where can I find one, please e-mail me, or post it

Odd ... we have a 3com 3c503 on a 486/25, and a 3com 3c503-16 on a
486/33 here, and they work just fine. One of the 486's is a DEC, the
other a Zeos. I suspect that either your 486's bus is running too fast
for the 3com (I think both of the 486's here have an ISA bus running at
8 MHz - you may have an EISA or an accelerated bus that the 3c503 has
problems with); or, more likely, you have some kind of interrupt or
memory conflict on your 486 that you don't have on your 286 or 386.

At least for us, the default settings on the 3c503 were NOT useful --
they conflicted with the other hardware on the 486's. But that wasn't
because they _were_ 486's, just that some of these machines are fairly
`loaded'. If you have any conflicts at all, the 3c503 won't talk to
you at all ...

Good luck,

Bruce C. Wright
