First off, my thanks go to those who helped out with my DW query.
One further query has resulted, however. If the DEQNA is obsolete, how should
one go about fitting ethernet to a MV2? I don't plan to upgrade beyond 5.3,
but I'm seriously considering Ultrix - I assume it's also dropped DEQNA
support..?
Cheers
Bob

Once upon a time DEC had a special trade in deal where for $600 (approx.) you could trade up to a DELQA. You might talk to a DEC salesthingy and see if you can get that deal. They extended it several times, so who knows, it might still be available. >I don't plan to upgrade beyond 5.3, >but I'm seriously considering Ultrix - I assume it's also dropped DEQNA >support..? I dunno. I think the DEQNA is still supported on PDP's so it might still be supported on Ultrix. I'd find out before spending any money. -- Terry Poot <tp@mccall.com> The McCall Pattern Company (uucp: ...!rutgers!depot!mccall!tp) 615 McCall Road (800)255-2762, in KS (913)776-4041 Manhattan, KS 66502, USA

The trade-up program was from the DEQNA or the DELQA to the DELQA-YM. It was (is?) managed by Digital Assisted Services at 800-225-5385, and it's unlikely that your sales person will be aware of it. I'd suggest call- ing DAS and seeing if it's still going on. > I dunno. I think the DEQNA is still supported on PDP's so it might still be > supported on Ultrix. I'd find out before spending any money. As of the last time I looked (November '92) the DEQNA was supported every- where Ethernet is supported except VMS.
