Disabling Decw Login banner with EWS

Hi -

I've just installed a version 1.2 of EWS on our cluster
and configured some of our VS 2000's to boot as Xterms.

With our 8800 as a boot server, the response time seems
much better than our 3100's with 16 Mb, for running the
normal DECW Session Manager with a few DecTerms.

However, what we'd really LIKE to do is to use these things
as DISPLAY only terminals, therefore, we'd like to inhibit
the DECW Login banner from displaying and also allow access
for creating windows from certain UIC's within our cluster.
i.e. I would like the thing to boot and be ready to receive
X displays without anyone logging in.

Has anyone out there done anything like this?

It was more straightforward for actual cluster members...
we did it by modifying DECW$STARTAPPS.COM, but EWS$SERVER.COM
runs DECW$STARTLOGIN directly, for which I don't have the
source, so I'm not quite sure where to start.

We have a large MIVC running VMS 5.4.

                                   Thanks in advance,

                                        Tami
