Interest rates have nothing to do with it.
Mines will not close exept maybe one or two who will be taken over by 
others. Mines shares are already going up again.
The simple fact is that mining companies scream blue murder and make all 
kinds of threads. It is still a profitable business and will continue. Of 
course, Mining companies have promised Abbott a lot of money for the 
election campaign. He is in the pockets of the super rich.

Of course you are wrong. Rudd is so far on the right he is not even a 
socialist.
As for the sale of Australian mines, why would the Chinese want to buy them 
if they are so bad that they don't make a profit? Can't you see the 
inconsistencies of all the silly talk?
