Any opinions out there on whether the new share issue for Alinta is good
value at the discounted price of $5.50? The shares last traded on about
March 18 for $6.15 before being suspended due to the new share issue being
released. Alinta shares traded at over $7.00 in the last few months. Does
anyone know why they have since dropped to $6.15 - any particular reasons?

because the market thinks they overpaid for Duke. The $50 question is was
the market right and the Alinta board wrong ?

I do think they overpaid, reading between the lines, if they can make use
of the underuterlised infrastruscure, they will have paid a fair market
price, the board are presuming they can make use of this infrastructure
with extra capacity, if they can, things should be okay, if they can't...
This begs the question why Duke never "bothered" ? Maybe Duke are smarter
then the average bear and got out while the going was good ?

There was quite a long thread on this in AUS.INVEST, do a search via Google
Groups.
