Many of you in Chicago as listen to the radio a lot may have encountered in
recent days an advert for St. Paul Federal Bank for Savings promoting their
new Cubs Chequing Account (offering free Cubs-design cheques and chequebook
cover for accountholders thereof) which has Wisconsin Dells(!!) mentioned in
the punchline thereof.

(Basically put, the plot thereof has this Cubs fan taking a taxi to 1060 W.
Addison for a day Cubs game--only the cabdriver [who, we may safely assume, is
an independent medallion-holder, not working for "the big boys" of
Checker/Yellow, American United or Flash Cabs] winds up on the Kennedy
Expressway with his mini-TV on, and makes a wrong turn somewhere near ORD as
lands the chap in the Water Capital.)

Which leaves me wondering about how much cab fare would run between, say,
State and Madison, Chicago, and Broadway and Superior, Wisconsin Dells--given
the fact of Chicago cabs being metered, and also the fact of I-90 between
Rosemount and South Beloit being the Northwest Tollway, so requiring the
passenger to also pay the relevant tolls in addition to the fare quoted on
the meter once they're finally at the Dells....
