Now we know why Wisconsin Dells is bound to be the Water Capital of the World for the 21st century: The Minnesota State Climatologist's Office hath it that over the last 50 years, summer dewpoint levels (and attendant humidity/discomfort in summer) have actually been on a steady increase in Minnesota (especially more so in the southern regions, and perhaps this may also apply to those orisons of Wisconsin where the Dells are situate). One of two factors may explain this trend: a) Increased irrigation of arid lands in the West for agriculture (with the imprimateur of the Federal Bureau of Reclamation), in turn creating what amounts to a sort of "lake effect" dome over the Midwestern states as triggers higher dewpoints and humidity levels. b) Global warming and changes in climactic patterns. Now we know why Wisconsin Dells is bound to be what it is well into the 21st century. And obviously attracting a mostly raffish, plebian sort more than anything.
