Hello all, 

We are trying to garner support for a newsgroup, possibly soc.stroke.support as
getting a can. newsgroup could be next to impossible we've come to find out.
We've been told that the Big 8 would be supportive if we went this way, or
perhaps the local ISP's like MTS would add it if there was enough support.
We've decided not to go moderated but to have a number of people oversee that
is posted to the newsgroup. 

The premise for the newsgroup will be as follows

RATIONALE:  soc.stroke.support  

With the ever increasing frequency of Strokes there seems to be a need for this
type of newsgroup now. This so persons stuck down with this debilitating
disease can get the support they and their families need at a critical time in
their lives, and where best to get this but from other Stroke Survivors and
their families.


 CHARTER:

( soc.stroke.support) will be a newsgroup to share information and experiences
by Stroke Survivors and their family members.  This newsgroup will be for
stroke survivors,and will be policed by the Stroke Survivors themselves.

The following will not be allowed in soc.stroke.support:

Off-topic posts ( Off topic articles, including:   Personal advertisements,
Commercial advertisements and money-making schemes , Chain letters, EMP spam , 
HTML , Copyright violations , Advocation of violence , Threats, Binaries,
except PGP signatures, X-Face headers, and other  ancillary meta-data
Personal attacks, Flames, Attempts to subvert the system, such as:  Forgery of
valid e-mail addresses,Unauthorized approval headers, Excessive
morphing/nym-shifting, Crossposting excessively or to unrelated groups Posting
with a non-replyable/munged address will be discouraged.
