it's friday - 5/3 - 6:45 -
can't get our email from WWA -
seems like the temp area (where mail gets copied) is full - or no space -

it seems that as time marches one - there are several things that you 'contract' for with an ISP -
local access - dialup, ISDN, leased line
local servers - like email, web hosting, news, dns, ftp, gopher -
backbone access - to the rest of the net
I expect that all local services that I 'contract' for will be up and running -
I don't hold the ISP responsible for backbone response time (beyond their control)
However - I do hold them responsible for THEIR local systems being up and responsive -
Great article in InfoWorld from Bob Metcalfe about contracts with ISP's -
None say anything about really having any services up and running -
Mostly about the things you can't do and their ability to cancel your account -
No commitment at all to providing up time and availability of services....

as things like local access become a commodity - (MFS +UUNET)
then the other areas become much more strategic -

I opened other accounts around town since WWA was failing in the 'local access' part -
now/today - the mail problem is back -
	not a good sign -

I have been on at wwa, since 6:30am this morning, 4-3-96, with my
e-mail program checking for new mail every 10 minutes. Zero problems
connecting to the mail server.
