There no need to do format a DVD-RW. Just a quick erase is enough. A full erase is needed when it's going to be played back on standalone DVD players though. Oh, by the way, I don't have a Mac and it's weird that there's no mention of DVD-RW on the Apple site, only DVD-R. I don't understand. Is the firmware crippled anyhow?
