It turns out Lynx is working properly after all. Despite what the URI spec says about ampersands being reserved as delimiters inside a query string, when a URI is present in an HTML document, the HTML meaning of the ampersand takes precedence. I found the explanation in a footnote to the HTML specification: http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/html-spec/html-spec_foot.html#FOOT26 So, Lynx broke my software (which conforms to the URI spec for the URIs) by conforming more strongly to the HTML spec. I will go forthwith and change all my delimeters to semicolons or vertical bars now. -Alex
