The AOL'ing of a2i?

A couple of months ago, I noticed ads from a2i in Computer Currents.
Nothing wrong with that.

For the last several weeks, I've noticed a decline in service e.g. busy
signals, open ringing, connect drops, etc.

Is this a temporary problem, or is a2i hitting oversubscription? When my
daughter was having problems with AOL several months ago, I kidded her
that she should get an account with a good ISP and cited the rock solid
performance a2i had exhibited over the past few years.

What's changed?
