Hi I hope this helps. First of all, man, is your son lucky to have a parent like you! Instead of discouraging him, you are encouraging him to follow his passion. It actually renews my faith in human nature. I'm not sure this is 100% applicable, but is maybe will give you some more ideas. I believe you actually have two challenges: (1) finding a source to teach him how to program games (2) helping him to find a good paying job when he gets the skills. He can use consulting as a career, even as a beginner, to quickly get the experience he needs. In learning about consulting, he may find a subject to automate with his games programs. We have an inexpensive course which teaches computer consulting to beginners. He will not find this in any book or in any school because (sadly) it's not taught. When you look at some of the URLs below, you may not understand everything, but you will understand the pay. This is what he can earn. We chose the software testing consulting profession to show how to do consulting. That's one of the easiests to break into. http://www.epublications.net/ConsApp.html http://www.epublications.net/FREEDocs/TDRHelp.html http://www.epublications.net/FREEDocs/userguide.EXE http://www.epublications.net/FREEDocs/readme.html http://www.epublications.net/quiz "samsimillia" <samsimillia@ic24.net> wrote: >My son is 8yrs old and really wants to make up games for the PC, Nintendo, >Sega etc. when he is older.
