Hi I hope this helps. I found that no matter what RAD tool you use you still are going to need a good working knowledge of the language. C++ is more difficult than VB but is can do ANYTHING. As far a RAD tools, I much prefer Borland C++ Builder to MSC VC (I own both) because of its better user interface. There is one more area you need to consider in this mix, however. That's how much companies are willing to pay for whatever you are learning. I searched the Extreme IT Consulting Course for "Rates" and found this: "Add 2-5% for programmers/developers skilled in C; 5-15% for C++ programming skills; 5-15% for Visual Basic; and 2-8% for PowerBuilder." This data is for consultants, but is applicable to the profession. This data is from a survey done by a Job Shop, so I believe it. Everyone has to make their own decision, but I will never program as a regular employee again. I was burned with overwork and low pay for too long. When you look at the beginner consulting rates I found by searching the Course for "Programmer" you will see why. "*** Hourly IT Consulting Pay Rates Data *** IT Consulting Profession Analyzed: Intermediate Programmer Total Number of IT Consultants In This Survey: 174 Experience Range: greater than or equal to 2 years and less than or equal to 5 years Maximum Hourly Pay Rate: $175 Minimum Hourly Pay Rate: $15 Average Hourly Pay Rate: $61.86" You can find out about the Extreme IT Consulting Course here. http://www.epublications.net/ConsApp.html "THeX" <drakonus@hotmail.com> wrote: >I'm a PICK programmer and want to learn to program/develop applications for >Windows.
