Delphi is suited for programmers of all levels who want to be highly productive using a powerful, truly object-oriented language and at the same time have a pleasant programming experience. >I prefer to code C++ rather than basic or pascal. I prefer to avoid C++ as I find it far less readable and thus less maintainable compared to Delphi code. Debugging in Delphi is far more pleasant than C++ as you don't have to worry about pointers nearly as much. I avoid VB because: -it is object based rather than object oriented. -to do anything really complex you often have to use another tool whereas you can do pretty much anything using Delphi alone. -VB error handling is an absolute joke compared to Delphi's structured approach. -VB encourages bad programing practices. >I used Borland products since Turbo C++ 1.0 was released. But have you ever used Delphi or C++ Builder? >Today, I find Visual C++ to be the industry standard for commercial grade >software construction. Strange isn't it. Hopefully Java and Kylix will give "Visual" C++ the death it deserves. ___ The Calgary Compendium http://mikefullerton.webjump.com/calgary.html
