Hello. My name is Jim Townsend. I have been writing databases for the last fifteen years and programming Neural Nets and Windows Applications since 1987. For the last two and a half years, my daughter and I have been developing DataMorf, which is essentially a Holistic Knowledge Management System, or, an Explicitly Relational Polymorphic Database. The intuitive talking, graphical interface makes it easy to learn and use. DataMorf stores information in the same manner as we store information in our own mind; as static entity modules connected by dynamic relationships. It is structured in such a manner as to allow it to be used as a natural interface for a Neural Network. My eventual goal; to build a intelligent thinking communal mind capable of controlling its own environment. Simply put; a Digital Nervous System. Of a certainty, I believe robotic brains will need to be fundamentally stuctured in this manner. Hello Big Brother! I am now working on the AI component of the application. In essence the application is a three tier DCOM application. The Database Layer is well defined in three Access databases. The User Layer of the DataMorf application is an intuitive, talking Interface optimized towards making static data entry and the creation of dynamic relationships as easy as possible. The Business Layer is user definable within the DataMorf application and extensible with Access '97. Since you know your business better than I do, it is obvious that the most intelligent way of creating the application is to allow you to define the business layer yourself. Here are just a few of the myriad uses for which we have used DataMorf; *Track Customers and Products *Catalogue all of your Personal Photo Albums *Genealogical Database for Family Histories *Database to track Teachers and Students *Catalogues Personal or Business Assets for Insurance Purposes *Quickly create a Product Catalogue *Auto Compile Media to Web Pages *Archive the Contents of your Filing Cabinets and link them to the People, Places and Things to which they pertain. *Compress and Archive Well Log Data *Compress and Archive Multi Media Files *Compress and Archive literally any Computer Data *Create a Compressed Central Library for Instance Information Access Utilizing this methodology makes DataMorf the last and only database you will ever need. In essence, you can use DataMorf in any instance where you need to store data and retrieve information. I would welcome any and all comments and suggestions concerning DataMorf. I am particularly interested in your opinion and rationale as to which AI paradigms would be the most useful for pattern recognition in both the Static Entities and Dynamic Relationships. Please feel free to post the Demo application on your own FTP server if you wish to disseminate that program as I sometimes get more traffic than my server can handle. You may download the fully functioning application from my web site at http://members.home.net/dr.c Cheers! Jimi -- Jim Townsend Dr. Computer dr.c@home.com (403) 201-4977 http://members.home.net/dr.c You can get more information about DataMorf here. Get a copy of DataMorf my great new Knowledge Management Application from ftp://24.64.89.242/datademo.exe DataMorf stores information in the same way as you do in your own mind, allowing you to catalogue absolutely anything! It also does document compression and archival for literally ANY type of computer data or program files, allowing you to catalogue all of your documents and relate them to any other person, place or thing in the database. This makes it easy to find ANY of the documents in your Archive Library instantaneously.
