converting 24-bit/192kHz wav to FLAC

I'm using Audition 1.5 and have recently installed a new sound card (E-MU 1212M) so I can start working in 192kHz.

Everything seems to be working smoothly except when I want to convert a 192kHz/24-bit wav file to FLAC I get an error message that says: "Not enough space left on destination drive to save entire file. Do you wish to keep the portion that has saved so far?"

Well, I have over 100 gigs of space available so I don't think this is a free space issue. As a work-around I tried to use the Flac Frontend application to convert the 192kHz file and it too, gave me an error message, though not having to do with drive space but rather "unsupported format type 3".

I can take the 192khz file and do a sample rate conversion to 96kHz and then convert to Flac just fine. Does anyone know what the reason is for this and if there's a way to convert the 192kHz wav files to Flac?

Thanks for your time.
