Turntable rumble is actually 180 degrees out of phase from right channel
      to left.

I don't think that it always is - it rather depends on what causes the rumble. For instance, not all pressings are rumble-free - and anything introduced during the cutting phase is very likely to be in-phase on both channels. If that happens, then you only have NR or EQ to use to get rid of it. But as you say, if it's out of phase, you have another option...

Since you have AA1.5 (I presume) then you have a couple of things that might help you; in MV you can use the frequency band splitter to extract just the part of the frequency range that you want to experiment with. When you've split the track into frequency bands (which turn up as separate tracks in MV, which is why this effect is there, rather than in EV), you can open up the band in EV and apply one of the Channel Mixer effects to it to create a mid/side version of the band. You are looking for the preset that says LR to Mid-Side - this will convert your signal to a sum and difference signal. If in your case there is much more rumble on the difference signal, then simply throw it out and leave the sub-bass as mono. It will make no difference to the resultant sound, because just about all of the sub-bass there is on vinyl has been reduced to mono anyway, simply to stop your stylus flying sideways out of the groove every time it hits any of it.

And I wouldn't worry about phase effects at this sort of frequency either. The bass is either going to work, or not work. Ultimately it's all down to taste - you either like the result, or you do it again until you do.
