Can you elaborate on the recording procedure and conditions?
I just realized as I look back on this thread that I never responded to this. When that happened I had had a friend record the source for me because I was attending the event that was being recorded. I always figured he simply had something setup incorrectly because I had NEVER had an issue with audio noise before. Times have changed, though. I recently bought a house and the cable people had to run a line into my office. I'm getting the same type of bad audio noise when I plug a cable box up to any audio source: my computer, 3rd party subwoofer/speaker set, etc. When I use the same exact audio cables with a DVD player it works without any noise at all. At first I was thinking it must be the cable box...a bad connection where the RCA's plug onto it. When I unplug the RCA's from it and touch the ends you can hear the audio noise really loud, naturally. As soon as I plug them back in it goes back to the more suddle noise that comes out in my recordings. Then, and I dont really know why, but I unplugged the coax cable from the back of the cable box while the RCA's were still plugged in...and again the bad noise went away...and of course all other audio in general. But, it got me thinking...could it be the line that's run into my office? I have had some strange internet slow downs and drop offs since I've been here as well...same cable company as I've had for years w/o any problems at all. Then I began to think about how my family room TV is currently using the crappy speakers that are on the TV since I don't have any other speakers yet. In order to hear well you have to crank them up to almost 100% loudness and I don't get any bad noise out of it at all. I took my laptop out there and plugged up to that and no bad noise there either. So, could the line be the problem? I don't have another coax long enough to run or I could test. :( Any thoughts would be great. Thanks!
