Well, I have never butchered anything I have performed this way of taming sibilance ;) ...however....I neglected to note that you had a large amount of material to work with AND the masters. Sometimes I read to fast for my own good! I also learned quite a bit there from Arnyk regarding compression techniques for supressing sibilance without killing that frequency range entirely. I have stayed away from de-essers due to the stuff I have been hearing done by some folks with their equipment. Scraped the crap out of that frequency band like a buzzsaw with a broad brush. Obviously I have been traumatized by hearing this practice...LOL... and have shied away from using a compressor for de-essing. Just gave it a quick shot on a slightly sibilant vocal track and it sounded initally quite tame without the blood and guts I have been accustomed to hearing in some music posted by others on the net. Quite interesting and edu-macatinal for me. :D

So YOU are the "PC AV guy", Arnyk! I appreciate your "sound card comparator" and made a good soundcard choice in part due to your learned research. Kudos to ya!
