My computer is a 17" MacBook Pro, w.OSX, 10.5.6, 2.4 GHZ Intelcore 2 Duo, 2 GB 667 mhz DDr2 SDRAM. I have 105.71 GB Available, with 43.02 GB used. I have a second monitor hooked up to it, an Epson 1280 printer and a cannon 8800f scanner and a wacom tablet. I have run disk repair, worked with mac and adobe in September, ran a full diagnostics, and my computer is fine. I just bought it in July along with CS3. I work on files in illustrator and Photoshop. Many of my files are huge, I create custom murals and wallpaper- so some files are 20ft x 20ft, 300dpi.( once rasterized can be 500-800mb) ( I used to have a pc desktop with less memory and processing speed,CS1- but it could handle these files)I thought i was upgrading? Some times my computer now can handle these files and then once every few months it freaks out, starts crashing in PSD 1st, then none of my adobe apps will work and i can't even open up a 2mb file. I have tried resetting my preferences, new user accounts, moving files, all of my apps are in their default locations.I have no duplicate fonts, not sure how to check if they are damaged.. The only thing that seems to help is uninstalling adobe running cleanscript and reinstalling. But then in a few months it all happens again. I am frustrated, I lose days of work every time this happens. I can't believe I spent 1800.00 on a programs that doesn't run properly and all i get from adobe is a work around. I can't afford to lose money like this and potentially clients and now, i am supposed to pay for tech support when no one can fix my problem anyways. BTW, i just reinstalled last night and am working on small files right now. But I have a huge project past deadline now, and I am afraid to open up the files to work on them. I can't keep uninstalling and reinstalling...
