Unable to save Version Cue CS3 password to keychain

Every time I connect to my Version Cue server, whether I'm connecting from Bridge or one of the other CS3 applications, I am prompted for a password. Even if I check "Add to keychain," the password is never remembered -- I am prompted for it every time.

I have tried repairing my keychain, and I even went so far as to completely reset my keychain. I do not believe the problem is the keychain itself, as I have been able to save other passwords for other applications, web sites, and file servers. I was also able to save the password when connecting via WebDAV.

The keychain entry that is saved to my keychain, according to Keychain Access, has the oh-so-informative name of 4b1a0024-15e2-1f6f-aaa6-9327bf48cb3f . When I log out of the server, this item disappears from the keychain. Is this normal behavior? And if so, what's the point of adding the item to the keychain if it doesn't remember the password?

Hi Arlo,
the Keychain should keep the password, sure.
That's how it's supposed to be.
The "oh-so-informative" string is a unique ID for your server. This entry is there since it is possible to connect to more than one server and the different servers must be identified correctly by Bridge or the Adobe apps.

Ah, I see in your last paragraph, that you do a explicit "log out". If you do so. the login credentials will be deleted again. That's as designed.
Just work on the VC server and do not log out as long as you want your credentials to be value and recognized. To log out is not required. So you'll be able to access the server from that machine every time.

That's the whole secret.

Yes, the purpose of the keychain is to remember my password. And it doesn't. It doesn't matter (and frankly shouldn't matter) if I log out or not. I have to type the password into every application every time. Even if I open Bridge, connect to the server, then open Keychain Access and give every application access to the Keychain entry, then start Photoshop, I STILL get prompted for the Version Cue server password. It feels broken. Is this behavior "as designed"?

And if I close Bridge without logging out, and then reopen Bridge, I again get prompted for the password, no matter how many times I tell it to add my login credentials to the Keychain.

We're having the same issue with one of our users in the office. The key never vanishes from the registry and the user never chooses to log out, however if bridge is closed and then re-opened the password has to be entered every single time. My first guess was a corrupted registry key, but purging that didn't fix it. You're the only other user I've read about with this issue.
