Can somebody tell me if .ai format is SVG type file. Documentation tells that ai files are a subset of eps format files. Need to convert ai to eps and jpeg. What commands can I use? All help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

.ai files created with Illustrator 9 and later are PDF files .ai files created with Illustrator 7 and 8 are EPS files .ai files from earlier versions are also EPS files but can't be processed by AGS See the Knowledgebase article at: <http://support.adobe.com/devsup/devsup.nsf/docs/53245.htm> on how to tell the difference-- to determine if you want to use convertEPSToRaster or convertPDFToRaster on a particular file.
