Hi,
In the Struct Dev Guide it mentions the names of the object proporties for tables, graphics, etc.
What I have not found is the names of the object proporties for paragraph and character format.
Heres an example:
element "tgroup"
{
is fm table element;
attribute "cols" is fm property columns;
attribute "tgroupstyle" is fm property table format;
attribute "colsep" is fm property column ruling;
attribute "rowsep" is fm property row ruling;
...
}
The effect of this rule causes Frame to create an XML attribute called "tgroupstyle" and give it the value of the table format when saving to XML.
Also, when Frame reads an XML file it sees the attribute "tgroupstyle" and automatically applys the value of that attribute as the table format in the .fm file that is created.
These rules have greatly simplified my EDD and Conversion Tables because these attributes do not have to be handled manually (ie: in the EDD, etc.) allowing me to have one EDD and conversion table for all documents.
This is not true for paragraph and character formats. Instead Im forced to use rules such as:
element "para"
{
is fm element "Para";
attribute "pgfformat"
{
is fm attribute "pgfformat";
value "CellBdySpecL" is fm value "CellBdySpecL";
value "CellBdySpecC" is fm value "CellBdySpecC";
value "CellBodySpecSml" is fm value "CellBodySpecSml";
value "Heading1" is fm value "Heading1";
...
}
Is there a rule I can add that could simplify this?
Everytime I add or change a para or character format, I have to change the EDD, Read/Write rules, and the Conversion table. You can imagine that with many many documents this is becoming a nightmare to maintain. :)
Thanx for your time
-Scott
