text in a cross reference

(Structured FM 7, Windows)

My cross reference element (element "ref", attribute "href")in the original xml contains text that should be used to link to the referenced item. After opening my xml in FM the text of element "ref" has moved to the ancestor element.
I want to display the text of the element "ref" instead of the text at the reference point/or text of the referenced attribute. Is that possible?
