You can specify which fonts to embed in the Distiller. If Frutiger was on the list of fonts that are not embedded, but Garamond is embedded, a file that uses Frutiger would be smaller. I don't know why the size difference would be so great, though. If Garamond is not available on the computers where the pdf files will be viewed, and it's important that the font not be substituted when displayed by Acrobat, then you'll need to embed Garamond. You could, however, determine whether font embedding is the problem by temporarily adding Garamond to the "Never embed" field in the Distiller and seeing how that affects file size. James Stoicheff
