The following named destinations are automatically created when you convert a FrameMaker document to PDF:

One named F that points to the first page.
One named G###### for each paragraph that is the target of a gotoobjectID hypertext marker or a cross-reference to a marker in that paragraph, where ###### is that paragraph's six-digit FrameMaker ID number.
One named I1.####### for each marker of any type, where ###### is that marker's six-digit FrameMaker ID number.
One named M8.marker.text for each hypertext marker, where marker.text is the text of the marker with all spaces replaced by periods.
One named M9.marker.text for each cross-reference marker.
One named P.# for each page, where # is the page number.
If you enable the generate named destinations for all paragraphs option, you will get a G###### destination for every paragraph in the document.

When a FrameMaker book is converted to PDF, each destination also includes a digit identifying which component file the target originated in. So, you will get the following named destinations:

One named F# for each component file, which points to the first page from the #th component.
One named G#.###### for each referenced paragraph from the #th component file.
One named I#.1.####### for each marker of any type, where ###### is that marker's six-digit FrameMaker ID number.
One named L# for each component file, which points to the last page from that file.
One named M#.8.marker.text for each hypertext marker from the #th component file.
One named M#.9.marker.text for each cross-reference marker from the #th component file.
One named P.# for each page, where # is the page number.
I find the named destinations created from hypertext and cross-reference markers to be the most useful. To get a list of these, simply generate a list of markers, as described in the Frame manual.

Automatically created cross-reference markers will include an ID number and paragraph format name. To get named destinations that don't include this information, you can manually insert "spot" cross-reference markers that have only the text you want.

As for Arnis's tip, I would add that links to local files don't work only if you are using Internet Explorer under Windows. They will work using Netscape, or using either Netscape or IE on a Mac. Not sure about any of the open-source/shareware browsers.
