Thanks for the reply Sheila,

Were you using the Adobe PS printer AdobePS Acrobat Distiller Driver ADIST4.PPD - same as I was using in NT.

What part is "dark" Essentially, the main difference is that colour bitmap graphics (printed in black and white on the laser printer) are now darker.

Colour graphics in the PDFs also appear darker on other computer screens compared to mine.

You might be able to do some PDF-level >detective work Will do! I might learn something about PDF while I'm there.

I don't recall whether the HP5Si is a >true-blue AdobePS printer I'm using the PS driver as opposed to the HPCL driver that is also available. This driver may be different to the one that was installed on NT but the difference in PDFs displayed on other computers leads me to think that its the distiller end of things that is different. I'm using the same distiller job options as I used to.

I don't recall if colour management was a feature of the NT set up and I am suspicious about this as I don't really understand it.

Thanks again. If I learn anything I'll let you know.

Ian
