Is multiple undo difficult to implement?

How difficult is it to implement multiple undo, given the implementation of single undo?

In light of the inductive proof in message 20, implementation of multiple undo should be easy.

If a program can execute single undo, the hard part has been achieved: keeping track of a command and its effects, and making it possible to undo those effects. Extending this capability to multiple undo consists of bookkeeping that allows the program to iterate what it already knows how to do.

This corroborates the contention that FM 7 is a sad update. If you counter by saying that FM is such a poorly written program that what should be easy to do isnt easy to do, then dont hold your breath waiting for future improvements. Instead, you should expect one sad update after another.
