Is it just me, or is the new patch failing to generate TOCs from a book? As far as I know, I'm doing all the same things I was doing earlier today using 8.0.2 (p273), and the TOC worked fine, then. All I've changed are a few paratag names, and I've updated everything to match.

If this is a real problem, and given the catalog sorting problem discussed earlier, my next question would be: How does one remove an update, go back to 8.0.2 p273???

TOCs work fine with p277 in my setups here.

What's happening in your configuration? Error messages? No TOCs? Any
typos in creating the updated paratags (FM is case sensitive and
trailing or leading spaces in the names count, but you might not
readily see them). Did you update your TOC list with the new paratags
and regenerate the TOC?

First, no problems with 8 TOCs at all.

And, rather than expecting a converted book to work out of the box, it would be better to delete the "converted" TOC file from the book and add an FM 8 TOC file, so it can be generated cleanly.

Further, I'd make sure that all the component files are open on the desktop when you update, so that if there are any error messages, you can see what's going on.

A fresh day, a fresh perspective. I had changed various paratag names and carefully cleaned up the catalog in every document. But I had not gone back and retagged the paragraphs themselves. And since the TOC presently consistw entirely of the paragraphs I had not retagged, voila! ... no TOC content.

Sigh ... I remember learning this same lesson about a dozen years ago.
