Hello,

If I generate a PDF without crop marks of a document with 300 pages, the file weight is 0.7 Mo. I generate PDF of the same document with crop marks, he made 10 Mo!
Is there a way to generate PDF with crop marks, but less heavy?

Thanks

In the full version of Actobat, use the Optimize Tool.

It doesn't work, my file is slightly heavier after optimization. In addition, I would need a solution that doesn't require manual intervention, because we have a large volume of production. We have a distiller with hot folder to generate PDF.

FrameMaker registration marks are implemented as multi-segment polygons (instead of circles).

With higher Adobe PS driver resolutions, more segments are generated, further increasing file size.

Instead of specifying crop marks in FrameMaker, consider adding the crop marks in Acrobat:
Advanced > Print Production > Add Printer Marks
(available in Acrobat Professional 7[?] or later)

Otherwise, you can experiment with lowering the driver resolution (if this applies to your output), for example to 1200 dpi.

Printers want 2 400 dpi, so i can't lower the resolution.

Specify crop marks in Acrobat doesn't like me for several reasons. It takes time, and this is a source of error.

I will try to resolve this problem with a PitStop action script.

Thanks
