Is this what we've been waiting for? www.blueworld.com Looks good to me! We have 8 LassoPro hosting providers in our area. Maybe I won't have to leave GoLiveCS after all! What do you WebPROs think of this?

Problem is your limited to a few providers of this service where as PHP and ASP is widely available - If you want to run it on your own server you will have to pay $1000 plus to purchase the server edition. Carl.

True. However, while not everyone has LassoPro, there is a substantial list of providers who do. There are eight in Washington state alone. And it never hurts to ask your current provider if they'd install LassoPro. Or we could just buy it and let the provider use it. OR...split the cost with a good provider. The main thing I'm looking for, is to stay with GoLiveCS and FINALLY there's something that will fill the bill there. In terms of layout and design, GoLive is to DreamWeaver what a complete set of drawing pencils is to a burnt stick. I've heard it's very powerful and EASY to use. My time and aggrevation saved by using it could pay the $999 for the server side many times over in a year. EASILY! Lets see now... I can finally use complete Dynamic Content functionality in GoLive again, that saves me untold time and headaches, and I pay a little more for Lasso providers like I would for anyone who wants to develop in ASP anyway, without having to worry about MicroSlop's .NET schema and Redmond snooping around in my system while I'm using their junk. I think I'm going to use LassoStudio !!!

Lasso is indeed powerful - I used to work with it when I was working for a hosting company from version three upwards. I don't know how version 7 intergrates with GL but earlier versions were very buggy and believe me its not a complete DC interface, unless they have made some major improvements in the latest release. As with GL6 and PHP, if you need to do something a little complex you will need to hand code it, the same will apply with Lasso! Carl.

What hosting company? Do they still use it? If they do I love to get in touch with them. ------------ Back when GLCS was released, and we found out DC was gone, I had contacted BlueWorld about what they had available then. I was told (back then) they "probably" had something coming and "if they did" it would be very "complete and what we're looking for", but that's "all she could say for sure." I'm thinking LassoStudio7 is what she was alluding to. ...I hope.

The company is Anu Internet services - <http://www.anu.ie> - They are based in Ireland and have a lot of experience with Lasso - they have been using it for years.

Lasso Server 7 is now cheaper then ever everyone $649 after OmniPilot acquired them. Also you can get Lasso Studio for GoLive (the tools to do Dynamic Content with Lasso Server) for $199! Thats pretty good. You also don't need to buy Lasso Server if you have a hosting provider that supports Lasso. The Lasso Studio will come with a development server for your machine. This is one alternative for DC before a PHP plug-in ships. -Eric

You are kidding about a PHP plugin right!!!!! Or do you work go Adobe who advertised Zend Studio as a "plug in?" That was a crock. It didn't even work with OSX at the tie of delivery and Zend support was very very poor.
