No key stroke added to constrain scaling. Scaling by dragging the corner should be a universal constraint. The addition of shift key should be to release constraint. Just plain common sense.

I don't understand. Drag a corner = scale. Drag a corner + shift = scale proportionately. Drag a corner + option = scale from center Drag a corner + option+ shift = scale proportionately from center This is how Ai has worked for decades. Are you saying now that you want it reversed? If so why? Is it simply because you are coming from another application where it was reversed?

this is the bass-ackward way Corel and Microsoft products have done it for ages. This is another item on the long list of thing Apple got right 26 years ago.

I'm use to scaling with the shift key. Thats not the point. Scaling should always be constrained. Whay even have a shift key with scaling in the first place. I don't give a darn if this is how it's always been. Plan silly. Ridiculous.

Wrong. Shift to constrain is a near universal standard. Shift as you drag to constrain movement. Shift as you rotate to constrain rotation angle. Shift as you shear to constrain shear to one axis. Shift as you scale to constrain to one axis or scale proportionally. It would be counterintuitive for just one transformation to reverse the Shift-to-constrain convention, and even worse to have all transformations constrain unless the Shift key is pressed.

I agree, why fix what is not broken. It is universal to use the shift key when scaling in proportion and as said above it is a contraining tool for many other commands so why change it and complicate the process.

Why focusing on the key SHIFT?
