And now the answer. At the time many people replied, but nothing worked. This was it: ------------------------------------ It's related to a printer. If the default printer is my Brother HL-1470N, cut delay happens. If I hide the printer behind a Linux machine, everything is fast again. Illustrator sees no delay talking to Linux, even though it's the same printer, printer driver, etc.
