Scott, My fault for posting a slightly inaccurate post. The Designer is working on the INDD file. He is not using InCopy--just utilizing the InCopy live-edit plug-ins. Attempt 2 does not illustrate a live-edit workflow, so far as I can see. The difference between attempts 1 and 2 is that in attempt 2 the Designer CLOSES the INDD file and thus does not make any simultaneous changes to any elements of the file. Once the Designer closes the file, there are no error messages of any kind on the Editor's computer when attempting to save, and all changes are recognized when the Designer reopens the file. Your comments about the Novell server are interesting--and the second such remark. We'll investigate that. Thanks! ~Matt
