Hey, thanks. That is one very valid approach; I'll have to try that. However please bear in mind that I have:
1: an animated title opening that does not repeat
2: photo "slide show" animation that DOES repeat
3: animated rollover buttons which will lead to other pages.

For the moment I have had some little breakthroughs with individual MCGs.

Here is the level I am at now:

I have buttons that swell and shrink with the rollover and out. Also I am java scripting the local states to bring additional rollover to some text. For a text object, I created some custom states I call "hide" and "reveal", and I trigger those from the main rollover object's states. Look at the four "plate" buttons in the lower right of the flash. Here is the current state of my progress:

Here are some of the problems I am encountering:

If I add a new state, and try to animate action on the state, it tends to interfere with the positions on the other states. Is it best to create all the states at once and then do the animation? Rather than work it up to a certain point and then try to add a state "After the fact"?
