Wow, it was a bitch getting those interactive buttons to work, but the results are pretty good: <http://www.jazzybluesfoods.com> However there is still a "pop" effect when one goes off the button, so it's not perfectly smooth.

DOes anyone have any idea if the Mac version of LM2 is better or more bug free than the PC version??

Among the problems I encountered were:

1. Aliases interfere with multi button links and must be removed
2. ANy hot button that has a swapping object tends to interfere with over down and out states, since the interactivity is keyed to a layer which disappears and reappears. (example: Because the red layer is behind the blue layer, when the blue layer becomes active, the red layer is blocked, therefore we immediately go into a mouse off state.)
3. You can't alter text when the text is within an MCG or a group. You must unclip and ungroup to change text.
4. WHile I successfully programmed mouseovers for custom states called "Hide" and "Reveal", I noted that somehow the normal position was often changed from what it was supposed to be. When I tried to repo normal position, I ended up moving the group somehow, and ALL the layers were offset -- not what I wanted. Start over.
5. I was not successful this time with the "master timeline" technique of labels and scripts for doing the remote rollovers on the text. What worked was setting up an individual MCG for each button and each remote rollover element. HOwever the procedure to get it to work was quite eccentric and difficult:

create TEXT and position it

make it a GROUP of 1

create 2 NEW CUSTOM STATES (i.e. hide and reveal) which makes it an MCG automatically.

GO INTO THE MCG AND PUT KEYFRAMES, opening up the STATES (both the group and object inside should indicate what state you are working on)

FIRST OPEN UP THE NORMAL TIMELINE AND PUT IN KEYFRAMES TO LOCK IT DOWN IN A FIXED POSITION!!!! THEN DO HIDE AND REVEAL LAYERS. BE SURE THE OBJECT IS SELECTED WHEN YOU MOVE IT TO CREATE KEYFRAMES AND NOT THE GROUP!!!
AT THIS POINT GIVE YOUR OBJECT GROUP A JAVA_NAME
then go to blue plate layer and java the states to trigger the text states

sincerely
