The code I'm using to modify the code within the .ps files is inserted through "passthrough" code in a software called PlanetPress. "Passthrough" allows you to insert postscript code into .ps files. This has worked well when we redefined showpage and added on the inserted text at that point. But under Distiller 5.0 that code works for the .ps files previously compiled under Adobe 4.0, but the new .ps files compiled under Distiller 5.0 do not respond. We're running this PlanetPress project under Adobe 5.0 distiller. Where I put the trace lines is in the "passthroughcode". Sorry if I haven't been clear.
