Are you sure it's really the same font, not just one with a similar
name or design? Is it possible that a style (bold, italic, &c.) was
applied to the version in the Illustrator file, that's actually
calling for an additional font you don't have available -- or that
doesn't really exist? (The latter rarely occurs with Adobe
applications, as they look for fonts themselves rather than relying
on the OS, but may still be worth checking.)

If you use XPress's "Collect for Output" command to generate a
report, is the misbehaving font listed under Picture Fonts for the
graphic, and is its name identical to the one listed in Document
Fonts? What format (compatible version of AI) is the EPSF you're
importing, and what level of PS? (XPress is easily confused by
anything beyond Level 1.)
