I have an HP 8100 printer. In my postscript program I can specify which tray is to be selected but I cannot stop the printer from using another tray if that one is empty. The command I have been using is
<</DeferredMediaSelection true /MediaPosition 3 /TraySwitch false >> setpagedevice.

Also when I have sent a postscript file to the printer the data received light is still flashing. This doesn't appear to cause any problems but I would like to know how to clear the memory (or whatever is the problem).
