How can I put halftone threshold in PPD file

My printer supports 1200x600 non-square resolution. I need put halftone threshold array in postscript file dynamically. Right now, I can put threshold array in postscript file, then add some code in my postscript file to load the threshold data and use ghostscript to process it. I hope somebody could tell how to use PPD to load the halftone threshold data so that when I print postscript file, the halftone data will automatically insert to the postscript file. Thanks a lot.

Try *JobPatchFile n "your_code" where n is an integer (to discriminate multiple job patch files, and your_code is your PostScript code. It will be inserted into the job near the beginning (prolog or setup section, don't know exactly).

Thanks a lot for your suggestion. By using JobPatchFile, it did insert postscript code in the "Prolog" section, and before %%Page: 1 1. But the halftone doesn't work. I think something wrong with my codes. Here are the codes I insert: << /HalftoneType 6 /Width 16 /Height 8 /Thresholds currentfile /ASCIIHexDecode filter >> sethalftone If I move these codes after %%Page: 1 1, then the halftone does apply. What else I should do to make it work. Thank you very much!

I think setpagedevice resets the halftone. Aandi Inston

After I add
<< /Install [
currentpagedevice /Install get
{exec Halftone12 sethalftone} aload pop
] cvx bind

it works.
