I'm trying to print a batch of this PDF I have. I sent it to the ps printer and it sends out one blank page, and then one page that says " ERROR: undefinedresource OFFENDING COMMAND: findresource STACK: /N402 /ColorSpace 2 /ShadingType -mark /Shading 2 /PatternType -mark- /N377 -savelevel- " I don't know what's up with this...I just got back, trying to catch up. Have rebooted the comp, turned off and repowered the printer. Cleared jobs etc. (was referred here form ps lounge)

Unlikely to be a hardware issue. Looks more like a fault in the PostScript generated from Distiller -or- a bad PDF. Aandi Inston

undefinedresource The PostScript interpreter is searching for a built-in resource that is not present. The resource category exists, but the specific resource requested is not available. Troubleshooting 1.If you have an external file system or attached hard disk, be sure it is mounted and accessible. If the requested item is expected to be on that attached hard disk, reload the resource and try printing again. 2.If there is no external system, load the resource onto the printer using a font downloader or equivalent, then re-run the document. 3.Contact the software application's technical support.

I used AI's save as PDF...and so I can let everyone have access for printing etc. I made a folder that has a copy of all the stuff we need to print in PDF so we don't need AI on every system. I'll try to resave the page and let you know if there is additional trouble. Thanks

Well, I don't know what to do. I'm technically challlenged with ps and printing stuff. I don't have this problems with any other files I've made and I have the latest AI patch. I don't want to take the chance of resaving any existing pdfs and then coming up with that same problem.

You can't run away from the problem! Well, I wouldn't recommend it. Does this happen with just one PDF? If so, try resaving it. To a new file of course, so you can still test with the original. Aandi Inston

What type of printer are you printing to? You may be having a problem with bugs in one of the emulations of PostScript, such as those provided by HP and Lexmark. Such printers do not have Adobe PostScript and have often been problematic when printing content from recent versions of programs. You probably should call their tech support folks. They might have one or more firmware updates for your printer. - Dov

Well, as I said, this is my first time running into it. I just got back froma week leave for surgery and they (co-workers) had been printing and trying to keep up while I was gone. So I don't know what triggered this. It doesn't happen with other PDF's but I will make a new one of an existing one...save as test so I don't ruin myself and let you know.

Okay, opened up the AI of an existing working PDF file... resaved to pdf under test name and it prints just fine. Looks like I'm gonna have to call them.

I called support and they are saying that the file is corrupt. And I probably am going to agree because it will print on PCL 3 but not 5 or PS. And other docs print just fine. I guess I'm just going to have to try and redo the whole thing... (I did make a new doc, copy/paste everything over) but I still got the same problem.

Although, now that I noticed... same document prints FINE on another computer with the exact same printer and PS driver (not SAME printer) but different unit...we have 2, 1 on each comp.
